Some Funnies

We were driving in the car one evening and she asked for a snack.  I told her when we got home we would have dinner.  I started naming dinner options and she said no to everything I offered.  Finally...
"You want mud for dinner, Iz?"
"Yes."
And I laughed and called her a silly girl and we drove home.  We got home and as I pulled in the garage...
"Mommy?  I want ham."
"Okay, baby."
"And cheese."
"Sounds good."
"And mud."
(laughing)  "Oh, honey.  You can't have mud for dinner.  Mud is like dirt and we don't eat dirt.  Mommy was just teasing you."
(moment of silence)  "Dat's NOT funny, Mommy."

"You okay, Mommy?"
"Yeah, I'm okay.  Are you okay?"
"No, I'm just Izzie."

We turned her car seat around so it is forward-facing now. (This is supposed to happen at 2 years, but we snuck in a few weeks early since we cleaned the cars out during the fabulous weather last Sunday.)  Now she can actually see outside and what's going on as we're driving, and she's had some cute comments.

  • "This is FUN!  So fun, Mommy!"
  • "We goin' faster.  Daddy goin' faster.  Whoa!  So fast!" (going approx 35 miles per hour)
  • "You hair's long, Mommy." (apparently she hasn't had much occasion to stare at the back of my head in the past)
  • "Mommy!  I yike you clothes!"  (she loves making conversation now that she can see us!)
