Happy Two Weeks, Sweet Girl!

Things we have learned about Isabel...or Izzie...or Iz...or Munchie...or Buncha Munch...(derivatives of her nickname "Munchkin" while in my tummy).

*She SLEEPS. Through dogs barking, doorbells ringing, people talking...this child SLEEPS. The only noise that has consistently jarred her out of her slumber? Paper being crumpled. Now, Bryan can use the paper shredder in the same room no problem. But crumple that paper and throw it in the trash and we're in trouble.

*She SLEEPS. I can file her nails. Bryan can put her faces in funny shapes. Nana can position however she likes for a photo shoot. And it takes her a half an hour to wake up. Funny, smushy little faces. Then one eye opens. Then she goes back to sleep for a few minutes. Then she attempts to get both eyes open. It's a process.

*She belches. Not burps. BELCHES. I would venture that she can keep up with any red-blooded American male.

*She battles hiccups several times a day. Did so when I was pregnant with her as well.

*She is a patient shopper. Made our first public outing with Auntie and cousin Caden to Hobby Lobby. Complete with irritated people, embarassed and laughing mommies, too much to carry (two children, two diaper bags, two purses, a gigantic picture, three bags), a 2-year old frantic about chicken nuggets, a parking lot mishap, and Pepsi slushes. This thing didn't make a peep the whole time. Believe me, I know that will be short-lived and I'm counting my blessings.

*She has gorgeously long eyelashes.

*She is now into reading books. This week's selection: "Moo, Baa, La La La", "Snuggle Puppy", and "Touch and Feel Farm" (all gifts from Otto ladies, I believe. Thanks, girls!)

*She clutches her little hands in front of her while she eats.

*She smiles really big right before she falls asleep.

*She has grown out of her newborn clothes. The sleeves are too short and the pants are high waters (or the equivalent for non-standing infants). I could cry about it right now. The only consolation? This kid has quite the wardrobe selection in 3 month size.

*She has only been out in this world two weeks and her daddy and I can't remember life without her. In the most beautiful way, this little babe has changed our world. We love you, sweet girl!

Reading a book. We are surprised by the pictures on every page even though we have read them enough to have them memorized...

Two weeks today! Already battling our second case of the hiccups and it's only noon...
