Hello to all our friends and family! We decided to create this blog to help you stay updated on the exciting life of our little Isabel. However, I make no promises--I am basically technologically illiterate--so this won't be anything fancy. But I have already had lots of requests from out of town loved ones wanting to see new pics or hear how she's doing, so we are giving this a try. Please be gentle in your criticisms...ignore the posts and just oogle over the pictures. That's what we're all here for anyways, right?
We have already taken hundreds (no exaggeration) of pictures over the last 6 days of Isabel's life. So, I will start small. We will begin with her actual birthday for our first post, and move forward from there.
I went into labor at 12:15 am on February 8th (her actualy due date!) and Isabel Emily Rahn was born later that day at 5:17 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20.5 inches long. It took us a long time to decide on her name, but it was no surprise we ended up with it. It was the name I have loved for a long time (pre-Bryan years even), and the only one Bryan would consider once we found out it was a girl. So why did it take us so long...? Perhaps it's just a lot of pressure giving a little human a name they'll have for the rest of their life! And the middle name Emily is after my sister. We wanted her middle name to have special meaning, and Emily is one of the strongest, bravest, most beautiful women we know. So it seemed appropriate that she be included!
Here are the pics of Izzie's first hours here with us...
