Exactly ONE WEEK OLD! Bryan started a count-up on his phone from the time she was born, so he set his phone next to her to take a picture when she was exactly 7 days old! We can't believe it! She is just too precious. Here's a week in review...some pictures from her first days home with us.
Two Days Old: Back home from the hospital! Isabel had a nap in her bouncer in the living room, and Bryan and I each took a couch and joined her! The first diaper Bryan changed was a BLOWOUT. Seems appropriate, right? And as he stripped her down and worked on cleaning her up, Isabel proceeded to pee all over the place--clothes, blankets, changing pad, etc. Literally did a load of laundry after that one diaper! I thought it was pretty hysterical... It was just us at home today, and it was practically perfect. We kept looking at her in amazement--we can't believe she's ours!
Three Days Old: We had lots of visitors today. Nana (Bryan's mom) came and brought us lunch. Then Grammy (my mom) stopped by and brought our dogs, Maya and Pixie, back to our house. They sniffed her a bit but are for the most part are fairly uninterested in her, which is fine with us! After that, Auntie Brittany, Uncle Kevin, and cousins Callie and Carter dropped by. We ended the day with our first bath at home (during which Isabel cried a REAL TEAR that caused this logical Mommy to proclaim we were never bathing her again!).
Four Days Old: This was a big day! We had our first doctor's appointment, which went extremely well. Little Iz is almost already back to her birth weight, and everything else checked out beautifully. Of course, Bryan and I were not as put together as we thought. We packed the diaper bag wonderfully, but left it in the car and she had a poop the second we walked in the door. Turns out you have to bring those diaper bags with you for them to be useful...
Then it was off to Grammy and Grampa's house for her first Sunday dinner--which was a Valentine's Day/Isabel's Birthday Extravaganza! Cousin Caden had so been looking forward to singing "Happy Birthday" to the baby that my mom figured we should make a party out of it. And Miss Isabel got some lovely Valentine gifts as well--her first rattle from Grammy and her first dolly from Auntie. Whew. What a night!

Five Days Old: This sweet little thing is the BEST sleeper. She sleeps for 3 or 4 hours at a time at night, and goes to sleep really easily. Of course, now that I have posted this I've probably jinxed myself...
Six Days Old: Valentine's Day! Bryan and I have spent the last 5 Valentine's Days eating an overpriced heart-shaped pizza from Valentino's and watching movies on the air mattress in our basement. Shows how wild and crazy we are that a newborn fit right into our tradition, right? She snuggled up for some movie time with us, but we replaced the pizza with some delicious formula that really hit the spot.
Seven Days Old: This was an exciting moment. (Yes, I know she's not buckled in. I promise I was right there.) Miss Izzie was in her bouncer and I caught her looking at the little toys hanging down from the top for the first time. And she was really studying them! I got so excited!
Love the exactly one week old picture!!! Great idea!
